England striker Wayne Rooney has admitted that he slept through the World Cup draw on Friday evening.
The Manchester United hitman revealed that he had intended to watch the draw that saw the Three Lions grouped with Slovenia, Algeria and the United States of America.
However, a nap turned slumber ensured that the 24-year-old had to turn to friends in order to know who England would face in South Africa.
The former Everton star - who was in London to prepare for the game against West Ham United - is quoted by Sporting Life as saying: "I was asleep until 10pm.
"We got the train down to London and got to the hotel about 5pm.
"I lay down on my bed to watch TV. I fell asleep and didn't find out what the draw was until five hours later."
