Tottenham Hotspur Set To Sign Brazilian Midfielder Sandro From Internacional - Report
The young Brazilian is ready to leave his homeland when the Brasileirao ends this weekend...
Tottenham Hotspur are apparently on the verge of completing a deal to bring 20-year-old midfielder Sandro to White Hart Lane from Brazilian club Internacional.
The Daily Mail reports that a £6.5 million deal has been agreed and will be announced when the Brazilian domestic season concludes this weekend.
The player could depart from his homeland with a champions medal in his pocket if he helps his club to victory over Santo Andre on Sunday.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has reportedly been tracking the player since the summer, as he looks to add more depth to his midfield following the departures from the club of Didider Zakora, Jamie O'Hara (on loan) and Kevin-Prince Boateng.
There is a potential issue over third-party 'ownership' of the player though. Internacional own 70 per cent of the rights to Sandro, meaning that Spurs must purchase the remaining 30 per cent in order to conform to Premier League regulations.
