Chelsea To Bid For Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero - Report
The Blues are ready to test los Colchoneros' resolve to keep their Argentine star...
Chelsea are now ready to launch a January bid for Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero, and will beat Jose Mourinho's Inter to the striker's signature.
The Daily Mirror reports that Blues owner Roman Abramovich has given the all-clear for a £40 million bid in what could be a busy January for the west Londoners in the transfer market.
Chelsea apparently want to bring in several reinforcements as a precautionary measure in case the Court of Arbitration for Sport decides that the FIFA transfer ban on the club should be upheld.
One potential stumbling block for the deal is apparently that the striker would probably have to take a pay cut because of British tax laws. Chelsea officials are reportedly optimistic though that a deal can be tied up in the next few days.
Atletico are believed to want Blues defender Paulo Ferreira as part of the deal.
