Carlo Ancelotti Confirms Frank Lampard's Availability For Chelsea-Arsenal Clash
Italian warns Arsenal Lampard will be in attendance.
As Arsenal's injury problems worsen heading into the weekend, Chelsea's continue to diminish, as Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti confirms that versatile midfielder Frank Lampard will be returning to his line-up.
"Frank is fit yes, he trained yesterday and today very well," the Italian coach told a press conference ahead of the Sunday showdown that pits the two London heavyweights against each other.
"He is in good condition and is ready to play," he added.
"Our physio and doctor worked very well with him, he is a fantastic professional player.
"He has [always] looked to improve his physical condition at Cobham [Chelsea's training ground]."
The Gunners will be forced into fielding a makeshift rear-guard, as Gael Clichy and understudy left-back Kieran Gibbs have both been ruled out. Armand Traore is expected to play in their absence.
With William Gallas' swollen eye still proving problematic, Mikael Silvestre may be asked to partner Thomas Vermaelen in central defence.
