Manchester City wide-man Martin Petrov has ruled himself out of the upcoming Premier League fixture against Hull City at the weekend.

The Bulgarian, who recently injured a knee whilst on international duty, has impressed with some match winning displays of late, finding the net against both West Ham United and Wigan Athletic, performances that have lead to him being handed the club's player of the month award for October.

City will, however, have to make do without his services for at least a week, but possibly longer, Petrov today confirmed.

"I am feeling better but I don't think I'll make it this week," he told the club's official website.

"I am hoping that I can start training again at the start of next week."

Petrov’s unavailability is offset with the news that Robinho has recovered from his ankle injury and should feature on the bench for the visit of Hull.
