Winning Run Here We Come - Manchester United's Wayne Rooney
'Wazza' warns the rest that his Red Devils will soon be at their best...
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has declared that his side are ready for another one of their trademark winning streaks to affirm their contention for top spot on the Premier League ladder.
After their loss to Chelsea a fortnight ago, the Red Devils are looking are looking to bridge the five-point gap between them and the summit - and what better way to do so than by emulating the form they showed this time last year, where they went on a 16-match unbeaten run over four months.
Rooney believes that this streak can start on Saturday night, when United face Everton at Old Trafford.
He told The Mirror: “We know we need to get more consistency in our results and I'm sure we can do that.
“We're known for going on good runs at this time of year and in the second half of the season, so we need to start doing that now.”
The 24-year-old added that the determination of Sir Alex Ferguson's men means they remain a threat to any club who wishes to take them on.
“We never give in, we always keep going to the end, and the other teams around us are definitely aware of that,” he said.
