England Over-Exposing Wayne Rooney - Manchester United Boss Sir Alex Ferguson
Fergie unhappy with star striker's extended time in media spotlight...
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has declared that he is unhappy with the Football Association’s over-use of Wayne Rooney.
Before his last three international games for the Three Lions, Rooney has had added media obligations to deal with, especially as stand-in skipper during last week’s friendly loss to Brazil.
The workload seems to have come to the attention of his club boss, who now says the 24-year-old has been given too much responsibility.
Ferguson told the Press Association: "Every time England go on a trip, who goes on TV? Wayne Rooney, every blinking time.
"It must get boring asking the same player to do it every time."
The Scot added that the repetitive nature of media work was excessive to any player.
"It is not fair on the player to continually have to do the press all the time. It is the same one all the time," he said.
