Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas has once again spoken of his loyalty to the club, claiming he is fully focussed on the short-term in north London.

The midfield playmaker has found himself at the centre of media speculation linking him with a return to Barcelona, with defender Gerard Pique and president Joan Laporta both issuing recent comments about hoping the Spaniard dons Catalunya colours once again.

But Fabregas, speaking to the Esport Club show this week, reiterated his allegiance to Arsenal and Arsene Wenger.

"I do not look beyond and I focus only on what happens short term, I have a great responsibility to my club," he stated.

Pique recently said: "Cesc will end up wearing the Blaugrana shirt one day, I've always said that. I'm sure that the canterano class of '87 will find themselves together. Cesc prefers to keep his opinion to himself."

Laporta added: "He [Fabregas] was formed at Barca, he has our style of play and the majority of 'cules' like him."
