Robinho Escapes Manchester City Rap - Report

Brazil ace Robinho celebrates his goal in the Confederations Cup match against the USA
Manchester City manager Mark Hughes will not officially discipline Robinho for his recent trip to join up with the Brazilian national team.

Instead, the Welshman will settle for a quiet chat behind closed doors, according to The Manchester Evening News, after yet another saga involving the somewhat unpredictable forward.

The player stayed with his international squad in Doha last week despite being injured and expected to join up with City's training camp in Abu Dhabi.

The row seems to have been diffused somewhat by Brazil recognising that the striker was not fit enough to feature in either of their two friendly internationals, and Hughes will use a light touch in dealing with the situation.

Reports continue to link Robinho with a move to Barcelona though, and speculation continues as to just how long Hughes may be prepared to put up with the mercurial superstar's behaviour.
