John Terry Misses England Training Ahead Of Brazil Clash Due To Ankle Injury
Centre-back withdraws from training...
Chelsea defender John Terry has pulled out of todays' training session with the England squad after experiencing further problems with an ankle injury, according to Sky Sports News.
Three Lions manager Fabio Capello had yesterday confirmed that the player would not be risked if the injury was causing him discomfort, and it seems that the swelling in the joint has not subsided enough for the player to be considered.
It now looks as though Wayne Rooney will skipper the side against the Brazilians in Terry's absence.
"If John Terry doesn't play, it will be Wayne Rooney. He is fit and he is ready to be a captain," Capello told his pre-match press conference earlier.
"[Terry] has hurt his ankle and we need to check him but I think he will be okay," Capello added. "The doctors think so but I won't take a risk. If he is not fit, he will not play."
