Robinho's Future Is With Manchester City - Mark Hughes
Barcelona may want him, the player may want to move, but Citizens boss Hughes thinks it is all conjecture...
The 25-year-old star has been the subject of continuous rumours about a move to Camp Nou, whether it be on loan or permanently, and publicly stated he would like to go.
Hughes has not been impressed by the speculation and blamed people with ulterior motives for driving the hype.
“I am quite clear and Robinho should be quite clear that his future is very much with City," Hughes was quoted as saying by the Manchester Evening News.
“There is no reason to think that will change any time soon. All those stories do not originate from anyone from City.
“It is people on the outside taking a view on the situation with Robinho, which they have no real insight into.”
With Robinho sidelined through injury, Hughes thinks that because he have not been performing, the media have instead focussed on the Brazilian's situation at the club.
“At the moment Robinho is not fit. But people still want to talk about him because he is a high-profile player," he continued.
“They have not had the opportunity to talk about him playing on the pitch. From their point of view the next best thing is to speculate about his future. There are a number of people out there who are making mischief.”
