Chelsea Defender Alex: I Have More To Give

Brazilian beats last season's pain barrier

EPL: Alex, Arsenal - Chelsea (PA)
Chelsea defender Alex has declared that he has much more to give to his club after overcoming an injury-hit Premier League campaign.

The Brazilian stopper experienced hernia problems and an injury to his foot that compromised his form.

But the former PSV Eindhoven star believes his problems are behind him and is ready to give his all to the Chelsea title challenge.

"I was in a lot of pain last season," he told the Daily Mail.

"I was playing but not training, and I was also missing games for Brazil. Just so I could recover, have treatment and be ready for Chelsea.

"The last four months of the season did go well for me, and people at Chelsea finally saw what I could offer. But it wasn't perfect because of the injury.

"There is more I can give."
