Chelsea Striker Didier Drogba Attributes Attitude Change To Chat With Son

Chelsea superstar Didier Drogba has detailed that he has changed his fiery behaviour after discovering that his son was not happy about it.

The words of advice from eight-year-old Isaac came after Drogba’s infamous spat with referee Tom Henning Obrevo, following the Blues’ loss to Barcelona in the Champions League last season.

The Drog has revealed that it was only when his son approached him about his actions that he finally realised that it was time to make amends and alter his persona for the better.

He said to The Times: "My son was watching with his friends from school and I was embarrassed by my behaviour."

"The good thing was that Isaac came to me and said, ‘It’s not right what you did, Dad, you should have had more penalties, but it’s not right to do that to referees.’

He continued: "It was really difficult after the Barcelona game because I made a mistake, but was frustrated that people didn’t understand why I reacted."

"I apologised and everything, but I also wanted to show I’m not the person people think I am.

The Ivorian hit-men concluded: "I’m not a bad guy, I just want to win and sometimes I react. The passion drives me. It’s a part of my behaviour I need to improve, but people are human beings."

Drogba has now come to terms with that unforgettable evening, along with Obrevo, after his UEFA hearing in June, and now seems keen on heeding his son’s advice.
