Marlon King will sign for another club following his jail term, according to the player's agent.

The 29-year-old striker was recenty convicted and sentenced to 18 months in prison after being found guilty of making unwanted advances to a woman in a London nightclub, before breaking her nose when she rejected his attentions.

The player has since been given the boot by Wigan Athletic, but his agent believes that the Jamaica international still has hope with regard to a future in professional football.

The agent, Tony Finnigan, subtly hinted at the case of Joey Barton, who was charged with common assault and affray before being sentenced to six months in prison.

"I don't want to name names but there are lots of players in this country who have fallen short of the law, done the crime, done the time, come out, and I'm sure if you're sitting in a six by six [prison cell] you do have time to reflect on the change you make as a person in your life," Finnigan told Sky News.

"Forget about playing football here, just as a human being you're going to be different.

"He still will be a good goalscorer and I'm sure someone will want his signature to play football and do the job that he's best at."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that the disgraced goal scorer should be allowed to continue playing professionally, once he has given the law its due.

"I believe that you have justice and it's not my justice, it is the justice that England has decided to apply to his case," Wenger is quoted by Sky Sports as saying.

"When he has paid his sentence, of course you would consider signing someone like that.

"
Otherwise you would never forgive anybody anything. When he has paid his sentence, some clubs if they want, they will take him."

The Frenchman, like his Blackburn counterpart Sam Allardyce, believes that this is an isolated incident, and that football has nothing to do with the current situation.

"
He is an individual and if you do what he has done, the fact that he has played football has nothing to do with it," he concluded.
