GAIS Ace Wanderson On Chelsea Radar - Report
There is a lengthy list of clubs examining the Brazilian midfielder, though the Blues are by far the most high profile to be watching him...
According to a report in Swedish newspaper Fotbolls Expressen, Premier League giants Chelsea are closely monitoring the situation of GAIS star Wanderson.
The Blues reportedly sent scouts to watch him playing for his Swedish club against Brommapojkarna earlier this week. GAIS are believed to be keen to cash in on the 23-year-old attacker in the upcoming transfer window.
"I've heard about Chelsea, but didn't receive confirmation," GAIS chairman Christopher Wallin was quoted as having said. "There should also have been two Dutch clubs there. For a large part of the season, there have been four or five clubs watching. It's been a tough year financially, we need to sell a player."
Wanderson has spent three seasons in Sweden since joining GAIS from Brazilian minnows River Atletico Clube in 2007. His current deal is due to expire in 2011.
Chelsea's transfer embargo could mean that the London side miss out on the attacker's services. Ajax, Groningen, Heerenveen and Hellas Verona are all keeping tabs on the Brazilian.
