Wayne Rooney Doubtful For Manchester United's Trip To Liverpool
Calf injury could keep Roo out of Anfield action...
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is a major doubt for Sunday's clash with Liverpool at Anfield.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has informed reporters at his Friday press conference that a calf injury makes it unlikely that the dynamic forward will be fit to face the Reds.
"On the injury front I can't give a clear picture, there are still some doubts about Rooney and Fletcher," Ferguson said.
The player will train today and tomorrow though, according to Sky Sports News, before a final decision is made regarding his fitness.
Midfielder Darren Fletcher is also a major doubt, along with Ji-Sung Park, but Patrice Evra and Ryan Giggs should both be available for selection.
"Patrice is fit, and Ryan is also fine, but Ji-Sung Park is definitely out unfortunately," the United boss confirmed.
"Everyone is fit from after Wednesday's game in Moscow."
