Manchester United Defender Patrice Evra: Chelsea Game More Important Than Liverpool
French left-back provides Reds with slap in the face...
Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra has effectively dismissed the title credentials of Liverpool by claiming that beating Chelsea is more important than winning at Anfield.
United visit Merseyside a fortnight before their visit to Stamford Bridge on November 8, but Evra sees the London trip as more vital to their season hopes, particularly after the Blues' 2-0 defeat of the Reds on Sunday.
"Chelsea away is the game I always want to win more than any other," Evra said to The Sun.
"If we win there it sends out a message to all the top four.
"There are other important games, such as we need to do well against Liverpool after losing 4-1 at home to them last season.
"But if you ask me to choose one game, I'll pick Chelsea away.
"I like playing Chelsea because it seems I get an assist every game."
