Liverpool Midfielder Javier Mascherano Should Be Fit For Chelsea Clash - Rafa Benitez

The Argentine could make Sunday's heavyweight clash at Stamford Bridge…

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez answers questions ahead of the Real Madrid fixture in the Champions League
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has revealed that Javier Mascherano could be fit for Sunday's Premier League visit to Chelsea.

A hamstring problem kept the Argentine international out of Wednesday's 2-0 defeat to Fiorentina in the Champions League.

"Javier trained today so hopefully he will be fit for Sunday," Benitez informed his club's official website.

"For us he is a key player. He is a very good worker in the middle and he can keep the balance of the team."

Another player who could feature is defender Daniel Agger, who played 68 minutes of a reserves game this week.

"Daniel trained today. I watched the DVD of the reserve game and he did well," Benitez added.

"Maybe he will have a chance for Sunday – we will see.

"He is a player who can defend really well but he also has quality in possession. It will be good to have him back."
