No Comment From Hertha Berlin On Roman Pavlyuchenko Loan Rumours
The Russian was rumoured to be heading for Germany...
Hertha Berlin have refused to comment on rumours suggesting the club had been close to securing a deal for Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.
The Russia international was reportedly close to joining the Bundesliga outfit on a season-long loan deal after failing to break into the starting XI at Spurs.
Michael Preetz, general manager of the Old Lady, has declined to make a statement regarding whether or not a transfer was in place on deadline day.
"The transfer window has closed and I am not prepared to make comments on things like that," he told German publication Bild.
Pavlyuchenko had been linked with moves to both Zenit St. Petersburg and Roma over the summer as the window drew closer to its end.
The former Spartak Moscow hitman has fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane, behind Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane and summer signing Peter Crouch.
