Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has proclaimed ahead of the clash against Arsenal that the Gunners are like "brothers" to him.

"I don't think I have anything that I need to show Arsenal," Adebayor began, as quoted in The Sun.

"We all know how good they are - but now I play for City so I'll do everything to help this team now.

"It'll be a good game and will be funny as well, playing against players who I see like brothers - such as [Alexandre] Song, [Gael] Clichy and [Emmanuel] Eboue."

The 25-year-old admitted that it would be a little awkward to play against the same men that he called team-mates just a few months ago, but insisted that he will relish the challenge.

"Playing against them will be strange - but it is going to be good," he remarked.

"I'm looking forward to it because I'm going to be up against old team-mates, ones who made me into a better player."

Adebayor concluded by affirming that the game at the City of Manchester Stadium will be a notable occasion for him.

"They [Arsenal] believed in my quality and helped put me where I am today," he added.

"To play against [manager] Arsene Wenger will be something special."
