Nicky Shorey's Move From Aston Villa To Portsmouth Falls Through - Report
The left-back's move to Pompey has fallen through...
Aston Villa defender Nicky Shorey's proposed move to Portsmouth has fallen through according to Sky Sports.
The 28-year-old undertook a medical at Fratton Park on Tuesday and was supposed to discuss personal terms with the club, but it is believed that Shorey failed to come to an agreement with Pompey.
The full-back was expected to agree a season-long loan with Portsmouth due to falling down the pecking order at Villa in the wake of Stephen Warnock's recent signing by the Birmingham-based club.
A move to Paul Hart's side would have guaranteed Shorey first-team action, but the player has now returned to Villa Park.
