Tottenham Hotspur midfielder David Bentley has been banned from driving for one year after admitting a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Bentley, who recently turned 25, pleaded guilty during a hearing at St Albans Magistrates' court in Hertfordshire, and Sky Sports sources indicate that the former England international had consumed four pints of beer supplemented with two spirits during a night at a music gig, subsequently crashing his Porsche into a lamp-post.

The Spurs player has struggled to establish himself in Harry Redknapp's side, and there have been murmurs that he may be sold during the current transfer window.
Everton, Aston Villa and Manchester City have all been linked with the winger, according to respective reports in The Times, the Daily Mail, and the Express.
The former Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers midfielder is valued at around £9 million.
