Martin Skrtel picked up a jaw injury during Liverpool's game against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend following a collision with Jamie Carragher.

The Slovakian played on despite visible discomfort, eventually being withdrawn due to the pain. The good news for Liverpool fans is that the jaw is not broken so Skrtel should only miss a few games, according to a report on Sky Sports.

"It [the jaw] is not broken, just heavily cracked," Skrtel's agent, Karol Csonto, told SITA.

"According to the doctors, Martin should be back in action within two weeks and he should be wearing a special mask.

"I hope that they will find or create a new one for him."

Slovenia face Czech Republic in a World Cup qualifier on the 5th September, and Skrtel's agent revealed his client was eager to play in that game.

"He is not admitting the possibility of not playing in that game," Csonto affirmed.
