Chelsea Midfielder Frank Lampard Hunting World Cup Glory With England
The Blues midfielder is hoping to make history with the Three Lions...
Frank Lampard is looking forward to the World Cup next summer and wants to become an England legend by winning the tournament.
"We can be defined by what happens this season," Lampard told Sky Sports.
"You only have to look at the high regard the 1966 team are held in, and quite rightly so, being the only [English] team to have won it.
"We want to win the World Cup. If we could, it would be history-making. But many great players have not managed it. Winning the World Cup is not easy."
Looking back at previous experiences with England, Lampard has admitted that it is tough to cope with defeat.
"Getting knocked out of a major tournament is the worst feeling in football," said Lampard.
"The [2004 European championship] was the worst because we had some really strong momentum and felt we were going to go on and win the trophy," he continued. "Then, in a second, we were out and going home.
"No-one forgets that feeling and we don't want it to happen again," he explained.
