Robbie Keane Hopes Tottenham Hotspur's Winning Habit Sticks
The Spurs skipper hopes that the form the side showed in China can continue into the new campaign...
They also lost 2-0 in Hong Kong to South China, but the Irishman thinks that beating the two Premier League sides is hopefully the start of a winning habit, as Spurs look to make a positive beginning to the new Premier League season.
"China was a good test for us and I thought the lads did well, not just against Hull but in both games. It was a good couple of days for us and at times we played really well," he told the club's official website.
"The lads have looked really sharp considering the long trip and hopefully we'll take that into the season.
"It's always great to score the goals but the most important thing is to get the fitness right for the start of the season.
"We got two good wins under our belts and it's always important to win games, our main aim is the start of the season, that's what we're concentrating on."
Spurs endured a miserable start to last season, and looked like relegation fodder until Harry Redknapp took over from Juande Ramos as manager. The boss echoed his skipper's sentiments, and insisted that what counted was what happened in the Premier League, not pre-season.
"Winning's a good habit but it's all about what we do at the start of the season, that's what counts," he asserted."It was nice to go to China and win the tournament and play well against two good teams from the Premier League. That was good for us."
