The Norwegian international is again the subject of an apparent move to the north of the capital...
Hangeland has emerged as an inspired Roy Hodgson recruitment, as the well-travelled English trainer - who coached Hangeland while the pair were at Viking of Stavanger - has overseen a successful period of transition in west London, with the aerially-dominant 28-year-old a key part of the club's reliable defence.
The player has even scored against Arsenal. Last season the Gunners faced a trip to Craven Cottage during the early part of the season, but they left west London empty-handed, as Fulham defeated the red-and-whites by a 1-0 scoreline, struck from the toes of Hangeland (pictured).
Hodgson has long acknowledged that the Houston-born defender is a crucial part of his long-term plans with the Cottagers, and contract negotiations are expected to resume this week following a hiatus when the former Copenhagen star wed his wife last summer.
Arsenal have already made one defensive acquisition this summer, the £10-12 million recruitment of versatile centre-back Thomas Vermaelen, 23, a former Ajax captain.
Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly keen on Hangeland.
