Claudio Pizarro enjoyed a largely successful loan spell away from Chelsea last season, in which he won the DFB Pokal and fought in the UEFA Cup final with Werder Bremen, and the regular Peruvian international hopes that his form in the Bundesliga, where he notched 17 league goals in 20 appearances, will launch him into more games in a Blues shirt.
"I have a contract with Chelsea for two more years so for now I will stay here and see what things are coming for me," he explained to Sky Sports News.
"I used to play a lot in Germany and it was good for me. I am trying to get a chance to play in the Premier League squad."
Pizarro's wishes for further first XI opportunities could come true under the club's new trainer, Italian tactician Carlo Ancelotti, who has already advocated a tactical switch, favouring a 4-4-2 diamond formation.
With a preferential strike force of powerfully-built nuisance box-player Didier Drogba and last season's Golden Boot winner, Nicolas Anelka, as the team's front-two, there could be room for Pizarro on the bench.
