Hull City Decide Against Jerome Thomas

Hull City have decided not to offer free agent Jerome Thomas a contract at the KC Stadium.

The former Charlton Athletic winger has been on trial with the Tigers for the past few weeks, with a view to securing a permanent deal with the club.

However, Tigers boss Phil Brown has revealed that the club will not be taking the 26-year-old to the club.

Brown has stated that he believed Thomas would not give the team anything extra, as he is too similar to the players they already have.

Speaking to Hull's official website, Brown said, "Jerome trained with us and we thanked him for his efforts.

"But we didn't feel that Jerome was going to improve what we've already got."

The Tigers boss also revealed that goalkeeper Boaz Myhill's injury was not serious, but he said that he would not be travelling to China with the rest of the squad.

"Boaz has injured his thumb and will not be travelling to Beijing," revealed Brown.

"Hopefully he'll be back in training on Monday or Tuesday, when we return from China in time for the Aberdeen game [on Sunday 9th August]."

The Tigers have endured a somewhat disappointing transfer window so far, with the likes of Michael Owen, Marc-Antoine Fortune, Fraizer Campbell and Daryl Murphy all rejecting moves to the KC Stadium.
