The Reds recorded a score draw with the Thais today...
Babel struck after six minutes, before the Thais, managed by former Everton and England midfielder Peter Reid, equalised 18 minutes from time.
They had looked like going into a shock early lead prior to the Dutchman's strike, when Reds keeper Diego Cavalieri miskicked a clearance just two minutes into the action. Datsakorn Thonglao, though, put his 30-yard shot wide when the goal was seemingly at his mercy.
Babel's goal had resulted from a long ball from Jamie Carragher, and the Reds, who have struggled to find the net during their pre-season games, then began to create chances, with Krisztian Nemeth and Drik Kuyt both going close before half-time.
Kuyt also crossed to create another good chance for Babel on 45 minutes, but the winger could not quite stretch far enough to slot the ball home.
A raft of substitutions followed after half-time, disrupting the flow somewhat, and the Thais were able to find a shock equaliser late on with Sutee netting for the hosts.
There were early second-half injuries to Nabil El Zhar and Martin Skrtel, but the game was distinguished by Spanish striker Fernando Torres making his first appearance of the Reds' pre-season programme when came off the bench late on, along with Spanish compatriot Albert Riera.
