Recent developments in the assault case against Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard have led to the release of video footage of the incident in question.

The 28-year-old has been brought up on charges of violent conduct at the Lounge Inn in Liverpool after last season's 5-1 victory over Newcastle on December 28.

Despite Gerrard denying the charges brought up against him - claiming he was merely defending himself against resident DJ Marcus McGee - the player is clearly shown causing physical harm to Mr. McGee, then being held back by friends.

Five members of Gerrard's entourage have pleaded guilty to affray, one of which has been highlighted for the jury. John Doran is shown to be pushing the DJ then following through with his elbow.

The midfielder's trial is expected to last a week.
