No Offers For Premier League Target Fredy Montero - Seattle Sounders Coach Sigi Schmid
The Sounders are yet to receive any bids for their star man, according to Schmid...
The Colombian has captured the imaginations of many Major League Soccer fans and has reportedly attracted interest from Fulham with his goalscoring exploits.
Schmid insists, however, that no approach has been made by the Cottagers, or any other club, for Montero, though he does believe the front man could one day move on to bigger and better things.
"You read things in the paper and you're not quite sure how they get there," Schmid told the press after the Sounders' 2-0 defeat in a friendly against Chelsea.
"Fredy Montero is with us right now. There have been no official inquiries that we are aware at this stage.
"He's a very important player to our team. He's the second leading scorer in our league and he has a bright future.
"I'm sure one day that opportunity, whether it's a day soon or later, will present itself, but right now he has a very important game to prepare for."
Fulham have had strong links with the United States in the past, counting Brian McBride, Carlos Bocanegra, Eddie Johnson, Clint Dempsey and current Sounders goalkeeper Kasey Keller.
