Eidur Gudjohnsen is set to leave Barcelona and return to England, according to his father.
Gudjohnsen's opportunities at the Camp Nou have become increasingly limited, and with his contract expiring next summer, the Blaugrana are keen to sell him.
According to his father, Arnor, who also acts as his agent, the Premier League - where Gudjohnsen rose to stardom with Bolton Wanderers and Chelsea - is his son's most likely destination.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said, "It is a real possibility that Eidur could leave Barcelona this summer.
"Barcelona have not told Eidur yet, but I have seen the reports that he could go. There is interest from a number of clubs in Eidur and I expect serious discussions with clubs next week.
"Eidur would be open to a move back to England as he knows everything in England and it would seriously appeal to him."
There has been considerable interest in Gudjohnsen from the UK in recent times, with Blackburn Rovers, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur all set to battle for his signature.
