Patrice Evra Relishing Manchester United's Visit To Asia
The Frenchman is enjoying some international travel with the Red Devils...
Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra is happy that the club have included a visit to Asia as part of their pre-season itinerary, because it is a continent which he has enjoyed visiting previously.
United, of course, captured the Club World Cup on their last trip to Asia, and this time the club will play four games in four different countries over eight days, allowing Evra and his team-mates to sample the unique atmosphere Asia provides.
"We have great memories of our last trip to Asia when we won the Club World Cup and it’s always a pleasure to go back," the defender told the club's official website.
"You feel like you are a pop star when you’re there – the supporters just go crazy wherever we go!
"It’s a privilege to represent the club on these trips and it makes you realise that it doesn’t matter where you live in the world, the club is just one big family."
And the chance to visit local communities, particularly those consisting of people much less fortunate than himself, is another factor of visits to the continent that Evra appreciates.
"One of the great things about going on tour is being able to visit and meet some of the people from local communities. I visited an orphanage on the last tour in 2007, which was amazing," he added.
"I love being with children and the kids on that visit really touched my heart. That’s my best memory from the last trip."
