Cesc Fabregas Second Option Behind Franck Ribery - Barcelona Chief Joan Laporta
Barca order Fabregas behind Ribery...
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed the club will only move for Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas if they fail in their attempts to sign Franck Ribery from Bayern Munich.
The Champions League winners have been strongly linked with a move for Fabregas, and were reportedly set to make a bid of around €45 million for the player.
However, the Barca chief has insisted French winger Ribery is at the top of their hit-list, though admitted Bayern are reluctant to part ways with their star man.
"Ribery was a player we were interested in at a logical price but Bayern don't want to sell," Laporta told Spanish television, according to Sky Sports.
"If they are interested in selling, we are interested in buying, but if not, then we will look to Fabregas.
"Compared to him there is no available alternative left in the market, so we will see what happens.
"But after last season we only need small adjustments - a left-back, a central defender, a midfielder and a forward."
