Nicolas Anelka Enjoying Pre-Season At Chelsea
The Frenchman is relishing his return to training, despite the brevity of his summer break...
Nevertheless, the short break has not affected the forward's thirst for competitive action, and the Frenchman is pleased to be back at the Blues' Cobham training complex preparing for the resumption of Premier League hostilities in August.
"Yes, it was short so you don't have so much time to lose your condition and take on weight," he quipped to the club's official website.
"The holiday was too short! I enjoyed it, it was short but it was good to have holidays, I went to see my family in the West Indies and then went to Dubai.
"It is good to be back with everyone, and I think it will be a nice season."
Anelka is also confident that new manager Carlo Ancelotti will prove to be an excellent appointment who can help the club achieve more success in the season to come.
"The new manager is good, he speaks well with everybody and is trying to learn the English language. You can see from the training we have had that he is good," the 30-year-old front-man added.
Chelsea begin their campaign by welcoming Hull City to Stamford Bridge on the opening day.
