Sunderland Consider Bid For Middlesbrough Striker Mido – Report
The Egyptian is linked with a move to the Stadium Of Light...
UK tabloid The Sun is reporting a possible £2.5 million offer may be made by Bruce, though the story itself offers little more weight.
Mido failed to return to Boro for the start of pre-season training and could be looking for a route away from the club.
The Egyptian went on loan to Wigan Athletic, where new Black Cats boss Bruce was in charge last season, but scored just once for the Latics after finding the net on his debut against Liverpool.
Mido arrived at the Riverside from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2007, costing the club £6m.
He has since struggled with injury and has rarely been able to string together a series of appearances.
Sunderland are being linked with a host of front men this summer, with Spurs' Darren Bent reportedly close to joining the club.
Bruce is also said to be interested in giant Portsmouth forward Peter Crouch.
