The Israel captain has apparently agreed terms on a new one-year-extension to his current deal that will see him stay with the club until 2012.
The Echo reports that Reds boss Rafa Benitez prioritised signing his key players to new deals above strengthening his squad this summer.
"We had to guarantee the future of the club first and then afterwards if you can improve then you must try to do so," revealed the Spaniard.
"This meant that the first thing we had to do this summer was to guarantee the futures of some of the players who are already here and we are happy that we have been able to do this in so many cases."
With talismanic captain Steven Gerrard, Spanish hitman Fernando Torres, centre-back Daniel Agger and the versatile Dirk Kyut all agreeing new deals, Benitez has clearly stood by his words.
Benayoun has now agreed terms and is set to end speculation linking him with a summer move away from Anfield by putting pen to paper on the new deal.
Speculation still surrounds key members of the Liverpool first team squad with Xabi Alonso regularly being linked with a move to Real Madrid and catalan giants Barcelona keen on Argentine midfielder Javier Mascherano.
