Manchester City Will Become As Good As Chelsea and Arsenal – Martin Petrov
Time and money is all the Citizens need to succeed, according to their Bulgarian winger...
Martin Petrov has insisted that the finances at Manchester City’s disposal will make the club as good as Chelsea and Arsenal.
The Citizens have already delved into the transfer market this summer, bringing in Gareth Barry and Roque Santa Cruz, and they are widely expected to sign Carlos Tevez in the coming days.
Speaking to the club’s official website, www.mcfc.co.uk, Petrov is adamant that City are well on their way to competing at the top of the Premier League.
“City want success and the money we have will help us to become a better team and become as good as Arsenal and Chelsea,” said the Bulgarian international.
“Before Chelsea got their investment, they were no better than we are now, so we know that if we spend well, we can challenge for trophies and titles in the future.”
Petrov, who missed most of last season with a serious knee injury, is now fit again and hoping to play a major part for the club next season.
The winger took time out to thank the fans for their patience with him and urged the City faithful to keep believing in their team.
“I would like to thank the fans for being behind me throughout my time at City, even when I have been injured,” he added
“They should believe in this team because all we need is time.”
