Tottenham Eye €14 Million Fernando Llorente – Report
A British tabloid report claims Spurs are hoping to lure the Spanish international to White Hart Lane...
The News of the World claims that manager Harry Redknapp sees the Spanish international as the perfect replacement for Roman Pavlyuchenko, as he seeks to freshen up his squad this summer.
Llorente has yet to extend his deal with Bilbao, which expires in 2011, and has been attracting interest from around the continent after enjoying an impressive campaign last season.
The striker has recently been in Confederations Cup action with Spain, where he has continued his goalscoring form, netting against South Africa in the group stages.
All of which appears to have enticed Spurs, who are ready to test Bilbao’s resolve with a €14 million for their striker.
The north Londoners have already been linked with a host of forwards this summer including Ruud van Nistelrooy, Kenwyne Jones, Obafemi Martins and Marcus Berg.
The club also look set to allow strikers Pavlyuchenko and Darren Bent to depart, as they attempt to build on last season’s strong finish.
