'Serious Interest' In Marcus Berg From Premier League - Groningen Manager Hans Nijland
A pair of English clubs are tailing the Under-21 star...
Reports from mirror.co.uk suggest the Groningen forward will be allowed to leave the club for a fee of around €11.5 million (£10m).
Groningen manager Hans Nijland appears resigned to losing the player, as his agent has revealed Berg is a target for two English clubs.
"Soren Lerby, the agent of Marcus Berg, has informed us there is a really serious interest from two clubs in the Premier League," said the Groningen boss.
"We have his replacement already lined up."
Villa could look to Berg as a replacement for John Carew, who has been linked with a move to Spurs himself this summer.
Tottenham are also said to be in for the Swede as they search for a powerful presence to partner Jermain Defoe or Robbie Keane, though would only probably buy one of the two front-men.
Other clubs rumoured to be monitoring Berg include Everton, Fiorentina and Bayern Munich.
