Cardiff City Attempt To Keep Hold Of Joe Ledley
The Welsh club are set to offer the up and coming star a new contract...
The Wales international is being tracked by the likes of Premier League clubs Fulham and Everton, and a move to England's top flight could be in the pipeline.
The 22-year-old has just one year remaining on his current contract and, if a new deal is not agreed, the club could be forced to sell the player this summer in order to cash in.
Speaking to Western Mail, Ledley said, "It's down to the football club to come and offer me a contract."
However, Ridsdale is adamant that a new contract could be offered, if the player wishes to remain at the club.
The former Leeds United chairman has said that Ledley's behaviour has been confusing, and it is not certain that he wants to stay at Cardiff City Stadium.
Speaking to The Sun, Ridsdale said, "We're a bit puzzled by Joe's attitude.
"We're happy to give him a new deal, which would include a pay rise and a get-out clause should a Premier League club come in for him.
"He would be in a win-win situation."
A bid is expected for the player this summer, with toffees boss David Moyes reportedly very keen to take the youngster to Goodison Park.Nick Turner, Goal.com
