Departed Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo, now at Real Madrid, believes that his former boss Sir Alex Ferguson will not hesitate to replace him with "big names" during this summer's transfer window.

The reigning Premier League champions have also lost a further high-profile player in Carlos Tevez, and are consequently considerably short up front.

Regarding Ferguson's transfer policy for the coming months, Ronaldo stated to the Daily Mail that, "He has lost big players before but has gone on to even more success.

"I fully expect big names to arrive this summer," he concluded.

Club-less striker Michael Owen is expected to seal an imminent deal over the coming days, subject to a medical as a report in today's The Sun has intimated that a £50,000 per week contract has already been agreed.

Highly-rated and much-coveted Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero, who has been compared to fellow South American, Brazil legend Romario, has also been linked with a switch to Old Trafford.
