Aston Villa Deny Interest in Wigan Defender Titus Bramble - Report

The Villans were thought to be pondering a move for the centre-back, but that no longer appears to be the case...

EPL: Titus Bramble , Wigan Athletic - Aston Villa (PA)
Aston Villa have moved swiftly to deny reports suggesting that they are interested in Titus Bramble, the Wigan Athletic defender.

Earlier reports had suggested that Villa were preparing a £3.5 million bid, plus Barry Bannan in return. According to Eurosport, however, representatives from the club have said that Martin O'Neill has no interest in Bramble.

With former skipper Martin Laursen having retired, Villa are thought to be in the market for a central defender, but the club refused to divulge the names of any potential targets.

Bramble has been at Wigan for two seasons, making 61 appearances in that time.
