The fans' favourite has departed Craven Cottage today...
Fulham today confirmed that several players have left the club, most prominent amongst them German defender Moritz Volz, who was considered something of a cult hero amongst the Craven Cottage faithful.
Volz made 146 senior appearances for the club after joining in 2004, and was notable for scoring the Premier League's 15,000th goal, against Chelsea in December 2006.
A statement on the club's official website wished the player well, highlighting that he contributed away from the pitch as well as on it,saying, "As well as his valuable contribution on the pitch, Volz played his part for Fulham in the Community.
"Embracing everything Fulham, Volz spearheaded a number of campaigns for the club's Community Sports Trust and became a cult figure at Craven Cottage.
"The club would like to wish 'Volzy' all the best in his future professional career and thanks him for five years of outstanding service."
Other departures from Fulham today are striker Collins John and Danish midfielder Leon Andreasen.
