Sunderland Join Race For Stephen Hunt - Report
The Reading winger is poised to leave the Madejski Stadium...
It is suggested that Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is ready to launch a bid for Reading's Stephen Hunt.
The Republic of Ireland winger is a wanted man and has already expressed his desire to leave the Royals this summer in order to play in the Premier League.
The Black Cats are the latest club to be interested in signing the player, according to The Sun.
Reading manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed he will not stand in Hunt's way if he should wish to depart for England's top flight.
Recently appointed Sunderland boss Bruce is yet to make any significant movements in the transfer market, but he is rumoured to have money to spend.
Tottenham trio Robbie Keane, Darren Bent and Didier Zokora have all been linked with a move to the Stadium of Light, while Bruce is also reportedly keen on Monterrey forward Humberto Suazo.
Sunderland sold Michael Chopra to Cardiff City this week. The striker enjoyed successful loan spells with the Welsh club, but failed to make an impression in the north east.
