David Beckham Could Face Hostile LA Galaxy Return - US Soccer President
'Golden Balls' could face a backlash for his departure to Milan...
Beckham joined Milan on loan from the Galaxy in January, staying in Italy until the end of the Serie A season and therefore missing the start of the MLS campaign, which began in March.
President Sunil Gulati expects some people to be less than happy with 'Golden Balls', despite his reputation as a star.
"That is inevitable, but in the end he is a good player and a soccer icon, and I think he'll help his team," Gulati told Bloomberg.
"But are there going to be some people that are upset? Sure."
Beckham is expected to return to first-team action with the Galaxy in July, when they face the New York Red Bulls.
The 34-year-old has cemented his place in the England national squad over the past year, starting the last World Cup qualifier against Andorra at Wembley.
