Niko Kranjcar To Return To Portsmouth For Pre-Season
On the day that five other players were released, the Croat has confirmed he'll be at Fratton Park...
He has forcefully asserted that his intention is to remain at Fratton Park, where he would begin the season, telling The Guardian, "Yes. I'm coming back for pre-season and that's it."
Portsmouth, who are reported as carrying debts of £60 million and are currently embroiled in a takeover saga, as Dubai-born billionaire Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim tries to buy the club. He has announced recently that he hoped to have a deal for the club concluded by July 11.
Due diligence, the process every potential Premier League owner has to undergo, is reportedly progressing well, according to The Guardian.
The sooner the takeover can be completed the better though, as Portsmouth now have a squad of only 20 players and no managerial appointment confirmed, and will need to begin moving in the transfer market quickly.
