The Young Lion is certain that Goodison Park is the place for him...

FA Cup: Jack Rodwell, Everton - Aston Villa (PA)
Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell, one of the club's rising stars who impressed with Stuart Pearce's England Under-21s as they reached the final of the European Championships in Sweden this summer, has affirmed his desire to remain with the Toffees, where he feels he can develop into the top player he wants to be.

One reason in particular for that feeling is the opportunity it grants him to work with a manager whom he clearly holds in the highest regard, namely David Moyes.

"He's (Moyes) been amazing," the player told the club's official website.

"He's a great gaffer to have - he's helped me a lot because I'm young.

"He puts his trust and faith into the youngsters as you've seen over the past years, which is good for me and good for the youngsters coming through at Everton."

Rodwell has largely spent his time in the first team at Goodison playing as a midfielder, but it is as a centre-back that his club see his future, with the player recently compared with Rio Ferdinand.
