Harry Redknapp is looking to offload a number of his squad members this summer, and following Alex McLeish's statement of interest in Gareth Bale, the Welshman could be the next to leave.
"Gareth Bale is another name we'd have to consider if he was available," McLeish told Sky Sports News.
The Scot went on to rubbish rumours of a split between himself and members of the Birmingham City board.
"We've certainly shown a bit of ambition with the money splashed out on the young centre-halves," he said.
"With [Christian] Benitez coming
in as well, for what was decent money, I couldn't say I've not been
given support by the board - that would be ridiculous."
Birmingham are looking to bring in a number of quality players as soon as possible in order to get the best possible preparation before next season. McLeish was unable to avoid relegation upon taking the job in the middle of the 2007-08 season, but with a whole season ahead of him he will be hoping for a better outcome next term.
