Arsenal Star Andrey Arshavin Sacks Agent Dennis Lachter

The Russian star will be without representation for the foreseeable future...

Arsenal's winter window recruit and club record signing, Andrey Arshavin, has sacked the agent that helped broker the move, Dennis Lachter, as he thinks he will be better off with self-representation.

The diminutive playmaker, who showed how productive he can be during his thus far short-stay at the Gunners' Ashburton Grove home, has often spoken out in the past about "unpleasant surprises" in his current contract, and has expressed dissatisfaction with the UK tax situation.

"Recently I sent a formal letter to Dennis Lachter, which said that I do not want him to continue to represent me and that I will act on my own behalf," the pint-sized attacker revealed to The Daily Mail.

"This is no way associated with my Arsenal contract. On the contrary, I want to express my deep gratitude for Lachter's help in moving to the English club.

"But now I am having operational problems and Dennis, who has a newborn son, lives in Israel and cannot always be close to me, so it is easier to solve all these problems myself."
